 Eco Club

We now have a battery collection box in school!  Please bring in all old batteries so that they can be recycled.  Many thanks.

Eco-Schools Committee

Most young people care deeply about environmental issues and wish to make a positive change in the environment around them. Our Eco-Schools programme at Fivemiletown College provides an ideal way for pupils to learn about their environment and educate others throughout the school and community. Eco-schools in Fivemiletown college links to many curriculum subjects and involves hands on work. We have obtained our bronze and silver award and are working towards our gold award. We meet every break-time on a Wednesday and fortnightly after school.

Eco-Club

Our eco-warriors maintain an extensive recycling drive by twice weekly disposing of blue bin material. Over 400kg was recycled last year showing the transformative efforts of our school community. The Eco Club also maintains our outdoor spaces including our memorial garden, raised beds and other areas. Weeding and composting are currently on the agenda, with planting to follow thereafter. A number of environmental improvements have also been added courtesy of Philip Aiken, Adhoc Maintenance Solutions. New tool hooks, wood replacement and galvanised steel picnic tables show FMT continue to make positive steps forward.
